NZMPA Journal Club #20

Date Recorded: 04 December 2023

Duration: 75 minutes

Presenter: Michael Zo and Rohil Chauhan

Topic: Cervical Myelopathy Part 2: Rabbit Holes, Red Herrings and Clinical Work Up of Cervical Myelopathy

Cervical myelopathy can affect up to 1 in every 50 adults at any given point in time. It is the most common cause of spinal cord injury and is often a 'silent' condition which takes time to become symptomatic but with significant functional impact. Early detection is the key to better prognosis for individuals with cervical myelopathy.

In this journal club, we are following up on our earlier presentation in March on cervical myelopathy and take a deeper dive into clinical assessment and work up of cervical myelopathy.

Preparation for this Journal Club: Please click here for the video and PowerPoint links to the previous Cervical Myelopathy presentation to bring us up to speed.
