PNZ Business Owner Resources

Understanding how to better support physiotherapy businesses

Recognising that physiotherapy business models have changed in recent years, work began by HealthiNZ in 2020 to understand how PNZ can best help member practices through COVID-19 and long term. Starting with research to identify the types of businesses that make-up our profession, HealthiNZ then spoke with physiotherapy business owners to identify the areas of support that are of most value - summarised below and detailed further in a PNZ Business Owner Report from HealthiNZ.

  • Representing our profession
  • Making Valuable Connections
  • Professional Development
  • Building Business Acumen
  • Insurance
  • Leadership and Culture
  • Staying Up To Date
  • Communicate Our Value
  • Person & Whānau Centered

Improved online resources

While PNZ offers services in many of these areas, the HealthiNZ report identifies opportunities for improvement. To realise these we have again partnered with HealthiNZ to provide business support resources through the PNZ website, that will be valued by and accessible to business owners.

Some of the requirements of these resources are that they are relevant to all types of physiotherapy businesses, including smaller and larger practices as well as those offering niche and multidisciplinary services, and are easy to navigate and searchable for different types of business owners.

As we start 2022 HealthiNZ are currently designing content, based on their previous research and further conversations with business owners, and working with our website providers to update the PNZ website by mid-2022.
