7 November | Vodafone Events Centre and Online

With the COVID-19 rāhui restricting how physiotherapists work together, PNZ is hosting Tūhono 2020: Stand United on 7 November to reunite the profession both in-person and online.

A hybrid event offering a programme of live and recorded sessions, Tūhono 2020 is our largest event of the year where attendees will have the opportunity to hear from world-leading speakers, connect with colleagues and engage in topical kōrero.

COVID-19 has shown that we are strongest when united and Tūhono 2020 is about coming together to reflect on our collective COVID-19 experience, share learnings and look towards the future of physiotherapy.

We’re excited to be offering this hybrid event format to members and hope you’ll join us at the Vodafone Events Centre or online.

Tickets will be on sale here from early July.

Tūhono 2020 Programme

The event programme is being designed to support engagement in-person and online, with a range of session formats including keynote speakers, panel sessions, interactive discussions and rapid fire abstract presentations. Session recordings will remain available after the event, so you can still experience Tūhono 2020 even if you can’t join us on the day.

Multiple sessions will focus on learning, innovation and the future for physiotherapy businesses, Māori Health and Telehealth, as well as specific discussions on COVID-19 and clinical content from leading keynote speakers and researchers.

Sponsorship and Exhibition Stands

A limited number of sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available to partner with PNZ in presenting Tūhono 2020. If you are interested please read the Tūhono 2020: Stand United Partner Prospectus.

Cancellation of Physiotherapy Conference 2020

Physiotherapy Conference is held every two years. Hosted by PNZ this is the country’s largest physiotherapy event bringing together members from across the profession, with international colleagues, speakers, stakeholders and providers of physiotherapy products and services.

Following careful consideration PNZ will not be hosting Physiotherapy Conference 2020. Given the global impact of COVID-19 there are clear restrictions to hosting a major conference this year including limits to member attendance, speaker availability and sponsorship.

However, we are hosting Tūhono 2020 (details above) to reunite the profession following the COVID-19 rāhui. Also to build on the great work that had gone into the 2020 conference, Physiotherapy Conference 2022 will be held in Rotorua with the next PNZ Business Symposium held as scheduled in 2021.

Thank you to everyone who had contributed to Physiotherapy Conference 2020, particularly the Scientific Programme Committee who brought together an exciting and innovative programme. Your work has provided the opportunity to host an alternative event for the profession this year and the start of a great programme for Physiotherapy Conference 2022.
