Breathing Works is a physiotherapy practice that treats patients with breathing pattern disorders and other cardiorespiratory conditions. We are unique in that we were the first private Breathing Pattern Disorder clinic in NZ and we continue to lead at a NZ and international level with our education programs, and through our teaching company BradCliff Breathing Method.

We are always pushing the boundaries of current clinical knowledge and are active in the research and development of new techniques in this exciting field. Our team has a culture of fun, excellence, and innovation and the successful applicant would be supported to contribute to this culture and innovation. We want to grow our team to be a passionate group of therapists working together to further expand and innovate the treatment of breathing pattern disorders.

We receive referrals from neurologists, cardiologists, ENTs, musculoskeletal specialists, gastroenterologists, sports physicians, pelvic floor physios, GPs and many other diverse sources around Auckland and beyond. We also work with sports people across a range of levels in New Zealand from elite to recreational, from teenagers to masters.

Breathing is now mainstream, and interest in optimising breathing has increased dramatically. Learning these assessment and treatment skills will be an invaluable tool to add to any previous Physiotherapy experience you already have.

What are we looking for?

  • A Physiotherapist who has a passion for learning
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in hospital or musculoskeletal private practice, and at least 1 year in private practice
  • Ideally the applicant will have completed some education already in Breathing Pattern Disorders through either BradCliff Level 1 or the AUT Breathing Performance and Rehabilitation paper
  • You do not have to be a breathing expert or the worlds most qualified physio – enthusiasm, being open and coachable with a will to learn, and plenty of kindness and compassion are the traits that are more important to us!
  • It is essential that the applicant is keen to develop self-knowledge and skill at working with breathing pattern disorders. We will support this process.
  • Confident computing skills mandatory
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate for New Zealand
