Meet the Committee

Mathieu Wilson (Chair)

Mathieu currently works as a health and safety business partner (injury management and wellbeing). He previously worked under the ACC VRS contract, as well as developing and managing injury prevention, early intervention and RTW services for a range of funders via a national rehabilitation company. He has also worked carrying out pain management rehabilitation, sports medicine as well as a variety of rotations within the DHB. Mathieu holds a BHSc (physiotherapy) and PGCert (Rehab) from AUT, and is in the final year of a Masters in Ergonomics, Safety and Health at Latrobe University. He continues to provide Occupational health consultancy services for a variety of organisations and is on the HAZANZ register, with a particular interest in injury and MSD prevention within organisations.


Daniel Harvey

Daniel Harvey (or Harvey as he is known to his patients) is the principal physiotherapist and director of Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy. He is a proud Westie, who has lived in West Auckland for over 30 years and attended local schools. Harvey has developed expertise in shoulder conditions and the diagnosis of shoulder pain was the subject for his Master’s thesis. Harvey has strong links with Auckland’s leading Orthopaedic, Medical and Pain Specialists and has developed a reputation for producing excellent post-surgical and chronic pain rehabilitation outcomes. Harvey is the former President of the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapy Association, a current Councillor on the New Zealand Pain Society Council and an executive committee member of the Occupational Health Physiotherapy Group.

Qualifications: Master of Health Science via Thesis (Honours), Master of Health Practice (Distinction) in Rehabilitation, Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy), Post Graduate Diploma of Health Science (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy), Post Graduate Certificate of Health Science (Western Acupuncture), currently studying PhD at AUT University


Shane Meys

Shane has a passion for Occupational Health Physiotherapy and is motivated to work towards greater awareness and impact amongst workplaces and key stakeholders within New Zealand and Internationally. Shane understands the value Occupational Health Physiotherapy holds and the exciting opportunities available within injury management. 

Shane contributes through the OHPG committee and working groups to progress the profession within New Zealand, as well as international collaborations to promote the field globally. Shane is currently completing his Master of Health Practice, with a project looking into the opportunities and considerations for physiotherapists to provide ACC medical certification. Shane is also on the working group looking further into this opportunity. Shane leads Work-Life Physiotherapy and is a proud Husband and Father.


Holly Lucas

Holly is an Occupational Health Physiotherapist working in Northland delivering Vocational Rehabilitation services around a busy family life with two young children. Having held roles with ACC, been a manager/employer and now a voc rehab provider means she can appreciate each of these perspectives and enjoys working with a wide variety of clients and workplaces throughout Northland to achieve results.

Holly joined the OHPG committee to help support the committee with the important work they do.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Health Science Physiotherapy, Masters of Health Practice (Rehabilitation).
