PNZ Awards

PNZ Award Categories and Nominations

Each year nominations are called for Physiotherapy New Zealand Awards recognising contribution to the physiotherapy profession, PNZ and/or public health and wellbeing. Award recipients are nominated in the categories of Life Membership, Honorary Life Membership, and Honorary Fellow. These are summarised below, with full award category definitions and criteria identified in the PNZ Honours and Awards Policy.

Awards for 2023 were announced at the PNZ Annual General Meeting on 10 November. Nominations for next year will open in mid-2024.

  • Life Membership: LMPNZ. Physiotherapists who are members of PNZ, past or present, awarded by PNZ Executive in recognition of their long and/or distinguished service to PNZ.
  • Honorary Life Membership: MPNZ (Hon). A non-physiotherapist who has served on PNZ committees, awarded by PNZ Executive in recognition of their long and/or distinguished service to PNZ.
  • Honorary Fellow: FPNZ (Hon). The highest award bestowed by PNZ. Awarded by PNZ Executive to a physiotherapist, or a non-physiotherapist, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to physiotherapy and/or to PNZ and/or in the field of public health.
