Two days of new PRP's ( pain release phenomenon techniques) and technique progressions. Fine tune your existing skills and grow them further. PRP’s give load progression options for contractile, joint and capsule problems.

The advanced course can be attended without staying to sit the exam on day 3. Will be the first graduating CMP course since prior to Covid in NZ.

Day 3 exam consists of a 50 multi choice written paper (25% of grade) and 10 technique practical exam (75% of grade). 80% is the pass mark.

Some of the advantages of becoming a credentialed Mulligan Practitioner:

  • CMP logos and credentials for your letterheads
  • Internationally recognised qualification
  • Name on the MCTA international website
  • CMP workshops for further education
  • Biannual newsletters in NZ
  • Receive referral from physiotherapists around NZ

The Mulligan Concept – Do you know how to use this New Zealand born concept in your assessment and management of musculoskeletal problems seen daily in your practice?

This very safe, very successful manual therapy concept is proving to be a winner around the world with physiotherapists. Research is giving ample justification that you should be familiar with these techniques.

The NZMPA is offering a three-part Mulligan Concept course, presented by Jillian McDowell, structured as follows:

Upper Quarter Course, which covers the upper quartile, cervical and thoracic spine
Lower Quarter Course, which covers the lower quartile and lumbar spine
Advanced (CMP Exam) Course, which includes further topics, as well as an examination of the whole course

The two-day workshops are designed for the busy clinician and are very “hands on”. They are taught sequentially (Upper Quartile is a prerequisite for Lower Quartile, and both Upper and Lower are prerequisites for the Advanced course). All participants will have new manual therapy skills to apply to their patients upon returning to work after the course. Brian Mulligan’s latest textbook is the course manual and treatment belts, lumbar snaggers and cervical snaggers will be available for purchase during the course. Mulligan Concept tapings will also be practiced.

Techniques include NAGS, SNAGS, MWMS and spinal mobilisations with arm and leg movements for non-radicular pain. All have the unique safety feature of being pain free for the patient immediately if they are indicated for their symptoms.

The course is limited to 18 students, and priority will be given to NZMPA financial members.
