Te tūranga / The role

As a Physiotherapist with Mercy Hospice, you’ll be a valuable part of an inclusive, supportive allied healthcare team. You will be empowered to provide high level care to palliative patients in the community and our in-patient unit. Our holistic person-centred approach acknowledges that physical function and independence are high priorities for patients living with advanced illnesses. We are looking for a new team member who will be committed to ensuring our care is equitable and delivered in a culturally responsive manner.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Work in partnership with patients to achieve their goals for physical fitness.
  • Lead and deliver our Manaaki Active Day Programme to support patients to remain active.
  • Maintain current and up to date knowledge of best physiotherapy practice in this area.

Ngā pūkenga e hiahiatia / Skills you’ll bring to the role:

  • A current practicing certificate.
  • Interest and passion to work with patients and whanau with life limiting illnesses.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Physiotherapist, or similar.
  • Appropriate Clinical experience.
  • Current drivers’ licence.
  • Moderate level of computer literacy.
