Insurance Programme

Physiotherapy New Zealand (PNZ) recommends all members practising physiotherapy in New Zealand have Professional Indemnity Insurance cover. Additionally some members will need Public Liability Insurance.

Insurance Through Physiotherapy New Zealand

PNZ has partnered with BMS to offer members insurance for 2023.

This means that as of 8 November 2022 you can add annual Professional Indemnity Insurance from BMS to your 2023 PNZ membership for $148.53 including run off cover at no additional fee when you permanently cease practice or retire. Read more about the professional indemnity features and benefits here.

Additionally, if you require both professional indemnity and public liability insurance, you can purchase a combined Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance at $245.71. Read more about public liability insurance here.

Insurance Cover With BMS

Read the 2023 BMS/PNZ Member Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy or the combined 2023 BMS/PNZ Member Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance Policy or visit BMS' PNZ member insurance website for more details.

These insurances are an additional cost to your regular PNZ membership, if you’re unsure whether you are covered then please contact pnz@physiotherapy.org.nz.

You can add these insurance products to your current PNZ membership at any time. Please follow the links below to purchase online. An administration charge is included within the insurance premium. While undergraduate physiotherapy students are likely to be covered by the university providing their programme of study, you may need insurance if you work outside of that scope.
